Cardiopulmonary exercise test or complex exercise test is a non-invasive method. The method enables simultaneous evaluation of the functioning of cardiovascular, respiratory and muscle system at rest, during precisely dosed physical load and recovery period, thus enabling higher precision of determining the physical work capacity, as well as causes that limit it.
Thus, early detection and evaluation of cardiopulmonary functional disorders and the development of efficient training programme and the selection of efficient therapy and rehabilitation methods becomes possible (in practical medicine). Additional blood lactate level measurement is possible for more precise assessment of anaerobic threshold.
The device for the performance of the test allows to conduct the test in adults and children starting from the age of 14.
Caution! The test can be performed either by using a veloergometer or a treadmill!
