The examination with dispersed light proctoscope or rectoscope (with disposable tips) is possible during a consultation with a surgeon or a proctologist. It is used to diagnose all diseases of the rectum and initial part of the sigmoid colon (haemorrhoids, polyps, other lesions and tumours).

If required, or at the request of the patient the examination can be performed with local anaesthesia. Tissue samples (biopsy) can be collected for the specification of diagnosis.
