Center of Diagnostics, branch of Veselības centrs 4, offers examinations using osteodensitometry equipment of the latest generation Hologic Horizon W which allows performing high-quality diagnostics with an even lower dose of radiation, with greater accuracy and image resolution. The Horizon W model differs from the standard osteodensitometer by several additional functions; the equipment can be used for a wider range of examinations, for example, to identify and analyse whole body composition, i.e., body mass and structure.

• The most important additional function of the Horizon W device is the most accurate identification and analysis of the whole body composition: not only does the device show the general rate of bones, muscles and fats in the patient''s body, it also precisely shows and analyses their location in each part of the body. Detailed separation of parameters, for example, visceral fat, ensures maximum diagnostic precision.
  
  The urinary bladder should be emptied before the examination to examine the whole-body composition. The examination, during which the device scans the entire human body, takes only seven minutes. During the examination, the client lies on his back on a flat surface, all accessories should be removed, including a wedding ring, so that the examination is as accurate as possible.
  
  After the examination, the client receives a detailed examination description and an image that gives the physician extensive information about the body composition (body mass and structure analysis) and a person''s health.
  
  Horizon W provides diagnostic possibilities in rheumatology, endocrinology, neurology, dietology, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, gynaecology and urology.
  
  It should be added that the osteodensitometry device of the US producer Hologic is used by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) in its studies.
  
  The radiation of the device is minimal – neither the patient nor the specialist requires additional protective equipment or special preparation.
